The Department of Water and Environmental Regulation (DWER) released its Donnelly River Allocation Statement online last year.
DWER assessed allocation limits for the Donnelly River to determine water availability for an irrigation scheme while continuing to maintain water for environmental flows and current self-supply water use.
Monitoring infrastructure was installed at several locations on the Donnelly River including Chappels Bridge and Storry Road.
The investigations confirmed the scheme will draw water from the Record Brook catchment and the forested areas of the Upper and Middle Donnelly catchments.
The Department of Water and Environmental Regulation has confirmed it will not take water from the Manjimup Brook catchment nor from any current water licence holders.
The completion of the studies means the DWER has lifted the moratorium on issuing water licenses.
