1. What recreational options will be available to the community?
The development of the Record Brook reservoir also provides potential future recreation opportunities. Southern Forest Irrigation Co-operative (SFIC) have investigated recreation options associated with the reservoir in consultation with the local community and other stakeholders including the Shire of Manjimup and Department of Biodiversity Conservation and Attractions (DBCA). SFIC are proposing to provide the inclusion of basic facilities consistent with other natural attractions in the area including toilets, parking, picnic tables and signage to facilitate appropriate passive recreational use of the area and to manage public access.
Development of additional recreational options for the area (such as boating, fishing and camping) are not proposed by the SFIC, although through the consultation process it was recognised that there is significant interest in these activities and that these may be proposed by stakeholders or interest groups in the future.
